Culturally Responsive Education Reviewer

Westchester Education Services, Feb. 2021–Present

Westchester Education Services creates materials that support the whole student, embedding the principles of culturally responsive education and social-emotional learning into all of the products they create.



Editorial Intern

The Women of Color Writing Circle is an international organization created in conjunction with the Lean In: Women of Color organization that is meant to foster relationships between women of color who write. We offer encouragement and inspiration regardless of age and preferred genre.

Powell Editorial, Dec. 2018—Present

Powell Editorial is a Black-owned and female-led business that caters to editorial and publishing needs. Powell Editorial offers a wide range of services including content editing, content creation, sensitivity reading and marketing tools.

Editorial Assistant

Vandermeer Creative, Sept. 2017–Mar. 2018

In this position, I acted somewhat like an apprentice in addition to my duties as an assistant. In this role I learned the basics of the permissions process as well as how to find the best translators for a project. I was in constant contact with Ann Vandermeer, who helped to give me a holistic understanding of what it meant to be an editor.



Editorial Intern

Cleaver Magazine, Aug. 2017–Dec. 2017

Cleaver is a literary magazine that showcases poetry, short fiction, nonfiction and even artwork. Although the internship was remote, I kept my supervisors and fellow editors in the loop through Skype conferences, emails and the Slack app.
